Why did you choose to go to seminary?
I have always been fascinated with the rituals and mystery of the Church, so the choice to enter seminary was quite natural for me. In my early teens, my grandfather died and I was convinced that the world was crumbling around me. I soon determined that I wanted to be a part of something that was able to provide so much stability to such an unstable world.
What are the best things in your life?
My family, my brother seminarians, the relationships that I have developed with the priests and laity in the Diocese of Rapid City, my ever-growing relationship with Christ, and the Gift and Call God has given me.

Your most amazing encounter with God:
Realizing God's love for me even when I lived a life undeserving of his love. His loving me when I could not love myself. Watching any movie depicting Jesus living, dying, and rising again in order that our sins would be forgiven. It has always been a humbling experience for me knowing that Jesus being God lowered himself to live and die in order to forgive my sins.
Why did you choose to go to seminary:
I've always loved helping others; serving at mass, protecting property and lives as a volunteer fire-fighter, being a lector, service projects, etc. I've had that feeling that God wants me to serve others, this last year I decided to find out if God was calling me to the priesthood and if I'm worthy of serving him in that capacity.
What are the best things in your life:
My God, my family, the friends I've gained through the military, college, the diocese, and now the seminary. Only through God's grace and love could I be this blessed. |

Your most amazing encounter with God:
Among the many encounters I have had with God, I think coming to the seminary and learning how to truly pray has been my most amazing encounter with God. Answering God’s call to the seminary opened up a whole new world of spiritual graces in my prayer life. Coming to know God’s love at a deeper level is always a supernatural experience.
Why did you choose to go to the seminary:
I didn’t know at the time what a blessing answering God’s call to the seminary would be. However, I did know that my heart was not at rest and that going to the seminary was the only way I could find peace. List the best things in your life:
The best things in my life are family, friends, the adventure of following Christ, and coffee. |
